> Ristorante Aroma
The panoramas from the restaurant atop the Palazzo Manfredi Hotel are undeniably stunning; it’s the best unobstructed view of the Colosseum in Rome, so ask for a table on the terrace. When Executive Chef Giuseppe di Iorio was awarded a Michelin star, it was a convincing indication that the food was just as stellar. You can order off-menu, or opt for the chef’s seven-course tasting menu: you might start withh bread-and-artichoke-crusted veal and roasted mackerel to start; move on to ravioli filled with white truffle and rice; a seafood course; a meat course; and then perhaps a chocolate and Sicilian pistachio delight to finish. Service is attentive without being obtrusive, and it all adds up to a dining experience not soon forgotten.

> Imàgo (Hassler Hotel)
Excellence is at the forefront of everything at Imàgo, the Michelin-starred restaurant inside the legendary Hotel Hassler, and it’s all a memorable ode to the international travels of executive chef Francesco Apreda. You can order à la carte, but this is the place to splurge on a tasting menu. Each carefully and meticulously created dish will leave you in awe: from the Mumbai spiced penne all’arrabiata with fresh yogurt, to Roman risotto cacio e pepe, to New York–inspired cheesecake with local berries and sour-apple sorbet. The waitstaff bring spice jars to the table at the beginning of each course, which is believed to heighten the sensory journey. Take your coffee up to the rooftop terrace for a magical, bird’s-eye view of the city.
